Apogee Soft Limit v1-0-14 WiN-MAC…Soft Limit ha sido una característica integral de los convertidores Apogee desde el AD-500, nuestro primer convertidor A-D independiente lanzado en 1991. Y ahora, por primera vez, esta emulación de cinta analógica simple pero altamente efectiva está disponible como complemento de audio gratuito.

Durante el desarrollo del AD-500, nos dimos cuenta de que, si bien la nueva tecnología de audio digital ofrecía un rendimiento superior y una menor distorsión, las deficiencias técnicas de la cinta analógica creaban un sonido agradable al que los ingenieros no querían renunciar. Y así se creó Soft Limit, un circuito analógico colocado antes de la etapa de conversión A-D para redondear con gracia los transitorios y agregar calidez armónica.

Soft Limit has been an integral feature of Apogee converters since the AD-500, our first standalone A-D converter released in 1991. And now, for the very first time, this simple but highly effective analog tape emulation is available as a free audio plugin. During development of the AD-500, we recognized that, while the new digital audio technology offered superior performance and lower distortion, the technical deficiencies of analog tape created a pleasing sound that engineers didn’t want to give up. And so Soft Limit was created, an analog circuit placed before the A-D conversion stage to gracefully round transients and add harmonic warmth.
